This is a real c1976 Jumbo Jet, retired and converted to provide accommodation. Choose between a couple of en-suite rooms, budget dormitory, twin and three-bed combo rooms with shared shower and toilet in the corridor or the luxury suite in the cockpit with its panoramic view of the airport. At Jumbo Stay you're guaranteed a unique and outstanding experience for all traveler budgets.

You can hardly stay closer to the airport! Jumbo Stay is only a ten minute walk away from the check-in counters at Arlanda. Perfect for anyone catching an early flight who doesn't want to get out of bed before dawn to make it to the airport in time. Start your trip in style with this alternative excursion for the family, and for anyone interested in airplanes. It certainly beats sitting in the lounge at Arlanda waiting for relatives to arrive! Café: You don't even have to stay at the hostel to visit for a coffee or a snack in the café, where you can enjoy the view from a walkway on the left wing of the plane. Unless you're an aircraft maintenance engineer, stepping on a plane wing isn't something you normally do - and you'll be surprised how high off the ground the wing is - and how big a jumbo jet really is up close. You can buy breakfast, coffee, cookies and basic meals. Parking: Café and day visitors have 10 parking places right next to the airplane. For guests that will travel away for more than one night they recommend long-term parking ALFA only 500 meters from Jumbo Stay. ALFA long-term parking is connected via the shuttlebus nr. 14 and passes Jumbo Stay on its way to the terminals.

This whimsical B+B offers two fantastic connected rooms in a one-of- kind wooden dog. Even the toilet is disguised as a fire hydrant!! With the two big dogs signaling your arrival to Dog Bark Park visitors may walk the grounds, browse the gift shop and artists' studio featuring the whimsical chainsaw artwork of husband and wife artists Dennis and Frances. Canine carvings are a specialty although visitors are apt to find fish, feline, bear, moose and Lewis & Clark themed carvings as well. At Dog Bark Park the artists enjoy sharing dog, travel and life stories as well as assisting visitors in planning their vacations. Dennis J. Sullivan, a self-taught chainsaw artist, has been carving for over twenty years. Frances joined him fifteen years ago and has also learned chainsaw carving. Their "big break" came in 1995 when carvings were sold on QVC television. They did nothing but carve wooden dogs for 18 months (their children barely remember seeing them during those days!). They made what seemed like a bundle of money, invested it all in developing and building Dog Bark Park where visitors most likely will find them happily creating art until, like the pine they use, life returns them to the earth. At Dog Bark Park they specialize in creating folk-art style wooden canine carvings. Dennis and Frances create over 60 different breeds and poses of dogs and often work from customer's photos to create carvings in the likeness of their canine companions. The dog sleeps four in a Queen bed and Two twin foldout futon mattresses in loft. Dog Bark Park Inn offers guests an expansive continental self-serve breakfast featuring the family's secret recipe for The Prairie's Best Fruited Granola, yogurts, and locally made pastries & breads. When Steve and partner Judy first created The Boot in 2001 they were considered slightly crazy, but after several years history of happy visitors they are rightly taking their place as local celebrities and contributing to the tapestry of attractions and folklore of this inspiring region. Creating a giant boot guesthouse on a 6 acre property is perhaps the genius of an eccentric, and rather than convert an existing building, Steve Richards designed The Boot from scratch. With curved walls and ceilings, everything had to be custom fitted into carefully planned spaces. The result is an unusual, romantic hideaway - in the shape of a giant boot! Providing a queen-size double bed, facilities for hot drinks, a mini bar and bathroom with shower, building regulations required that there cannot be a kitchen. A continental or cooked breakfast is delivered from the nearby Jester House café to be enjoyed in the cosy bedroom, outside terrace or downstairs lounge. A supper platter can also be ordered for couples who relish the privacy and as many find when they arrive - that they really don't want to go out. With a fireplace and under floor heating, The Boot is open year round, mainly to tourists in the summer months, but with steady bookings from knowledgeable locals keen for a relaxing break during the rest of the year.
Nearby Tasman is located between Nelson City and the Abel Tasman and Kahurangi National Parks at the top of the South Island of New Zealand. Around 35 mins drive from either Nelson airport, or Nelson harbour for ferry connections to North Island.

Underwater hotel in a Swedish lake near Stockholm. The Utter Inn is the brainchild of Mikael Genberg, a local artist and sculptor who has chosen to focus on "making art for the public". The single room of the hotel lies 3m below the surface of Lake Mälaren in Västerås, Sweden and contains only twin beds and a table. It opened in June 2000 on the coldest, rainiest day in the whole summer. Despite that it was a great success. Not only did all the untested solutions work, it also attracted a lot of people. The Utter Inn stimulates the most typical of Swedish dreams; to have a small Swedish red house with white garbles on your own island. On top of that you can spend your night three meters underwater with panoramic windows in all directions. This alternative dwelling also includes a sense of risk taking and adventure that tends to expand the sensory input. One should not forget the psychological term "transfer of exaltation". Roughly explained it is about man's tendency to transform the experience of fear to an experience of love. You don't want to feel afraid so the brain changes the emotion to something far more pleasant. You feel more alive. In this sense arranged, controlled fear can be very important. Guests of Utter Inn arrive at the port of Västerås and they are taken 1 km out to the hotel on the lake Malaren and provided with an inflatable boat to visit the closest uninhabited island. Some have enough courage to swim (the UHOTW team were too scared!), or to sunbathe upstairs, or watch the fish (both upstairs and downstairs). There is a remarkable feeling to go to bed while the fish are surrounding and watching you carefully. Often boats come quite close to get a glance of the daring inhabitants. 10 of the most extraordinary bedrooms hidden in an unassuming farmhouse up a pleasant - but not particularly noteworthy - country lane, designed and built by architect and visionary hotelier Mr Noël. Originally opening an innovative restaurant, La Gargouille (the Gargoyle), specialising in delicious dishes using local ingredients and bio-organic produce, he has taken inspiration from fairytales to construct these amazing bedrooms, next door to the restaurant. Defying normal classification, these rooms highlight incredible imagination, attention to detail and sheer audacity to delight guests. Claiming inspiration from Robert Louis Stevenson and Lewis Carroll does insufficient justice to this fairytale property.
- Sleep with a mermaid in your own sailing yacht, floating in a pool, with a starry sky above... reached via a sea captains snug with oak panelling - on the third floor of the farmhouse !...
- A wheeled Trojan Horse, with access by a lowering drawbridge to enter a beautifully hand crafted, wooden interior !...
- Perhaps a Spaceship in a lunar landscape, evocative of the excitement of first man on the moon in 1969 takes your fancy ?
- Or a wine cellar, with vines, barrels and oak wine press furniture !
- Maybe a trolls habitat, complete with goldfish swimming in the stream running through your bedroom? ...and many more besides...
